Standards listed are not covered exhaustively, but in varying degrees.

Kindergarten 

  • Observe, describe, draw, and compare familiar animals. 
  • Observe and imitate the sounds and movements of animals with sons, dances, and storytelling. 

Second Grade 

  • Observe and describe relationships between plants and animals. 

Fourth Grade 

  • Observe and list the components of soil (i.e., minerals, rocks, air, water, living and dead organisms) and distinguish between the living, nonliving, and once living components of soil.
  • Relate the components of soils to the growth of plants in soil (e.g., mineral nutrients, water).
