2013 Earth Day Celebration

April 20, 2013 from 12-4.  Enjoy earth-friendly exhibitors, entertainment, food, nature crafts, and fun activities at the Ogden Nature Center's Earth Day Celebration. Local beekeepers, urban gardeners, sheep shearing, and wool spinning will all be part of the many attractions.  Tour the green buildings, explore the trails and learn what you can do to improve the health of the planet. $2 per person. Donations will be gratefully accepted.  All proceeds will benefit the mission of the Ogden Nature Center: to unite people with nature and nurture appreciation and stewardship of the environment.  For more information call 801-621-7595.

Sunshine Breakfast Benefit

Friday, June 21, 2013. Held close to the summer solstice, this 8 a.m. salute to the sun benefits the Ogden Nature Center's environmental education programs and our 152-acre nature preserve.  The one-hour breakfast ushers in summer with a beautiful setting by Mother Nature, inspirational words from the Board of Directors and a gourmet breakfast catered by one of our favorite local chefs.  For information about attending, please call 801-621-7595.  This event is geared towards adults.

2013 Garden Tour

Date TBA,  9 am - 3 pm Discover ideas for your own garden and revel in the colors, textures and design of these unique gardens. All proceeds from the tour benefit the Ogden Nature Center.  This tour is presented by Laurie VanZandt / The Ardent Gardener Landscape Design in conjunction with the Ogden Nature Center. Sunshine Breakfast Benefit

Friday, June 21 This early morning salute to the sun will benefit the Ogden Nature Center and the many programs that tie our community closer to nature.  The one-hour breakfast will usher in summer with a beautiful setting by Mother Nature, speakers highlighting the many programs and activities at the Nature Center, and a gourmet breakfast catered by Union Grill and Grounds for Coffee.  For information about attending, please call 801-621-7595. 

Creatures of the Night

Two crazy nights of outdoor fun, without fright!  Friday & Saturday, Oct. 18 & 19, 5-8 pm / All ages. Put on your costumes, bring your flashlights and come have some Halloween fun at the Ogden Nature Center.  Learn about nocturnal animals, play games, hear stories & songs, make nature crafts and have treats by the fire. Creatures of the Night is all about education and trailside adventures. Creatures of the Night • Take a crepuscular creep (early night-time) along the trails where you’ll meet the Ogden Nature Center staff transformed into native animals, each with a tale to tell! • Meet live owls, snakes, toads and spiders. • Enjoy trailside treats, campfire stories, face painting & carnival games. • Make fall nature crafts that you can take home. • Go for a freaky fact scavenger hunt (bring flashlight) • Explore the bat cave • Go through a spider web crawl • Wood Witch's Lair  Children must be with an adult.  Dress for the weather.  This event will be held rain or shine.  

2013 Wildwoods BASH

Friday, September 6th at 5:00 p.m.  An outdoor dinner and auction to benefit the Ogden Nature Center.  Enjoy a feast prepared by Ogden's finest foodies.  Listen to live music and bid on fun outdoor experiences, art and gifts -- all inspired by nature.   The Wildwoods BASH will be held in the glen behind the Visitor Center, 966 W. 12th Street, Ogden, Utah.  Tickets are $60 per person or $1,000 for a reserved table of 10 guests. Tickets may be purchased online, by phone at 801-621-7595 or in person at the Ogden Nature Center Visitor Services Desk. Purchase Tickets The Wildwoods BASH benefits the Ogden Nature Center's two nature preserves totaling 175 acres of open space and nature education for our community.  The event will be held rain or shine. Holiday Open House December 7, 2013

9 am - 4 pm!  Fresh evergreen swags, local artists, baked goods, nature craft from 2-4, free hot cocoa & gift wrapping, outdoor trails, winter birding and free admission for all.  Join us for our annual Holiday Open House and sale in The Nest Gift Shop.  A perfect place to stock up on gifts for the nature lover in your life, toys for the kids and stocking stuffers galore!  This is a fun, wintery day at the Nature Center!
