Abbey Soukup
Abbey joined the Ogden Nature Center in the spring of 2026 as a Naturalist Educator. A graduate of Weber State University, Abbey earned a bachelor’s degree in Geography with a specialized emphasis in Environment and Sustainability. Her history with the Ogden Nature Center runs deep; from field trips when they were young, to interning at ONC through the Utah Conservation Corps, Abbey harbors a special love to this place. Their hands-on experience in habitat restoration and environmental education has deepened their passion for Utah’s unique ecosystems and the diverse wildlife that calls our sanctuary home.Abbey is a firm believer that the best way to protect our planet is to fall in love with it first. Whether they are leading a school group around the property, teaching with our animal ambassadors, or performing restoration work, her enthusiasm for our ecosystem is infectious.Outside of the Outdoor Classroom, Abbey is a true explorer at heart. You’ll often find them camping under Utah’s expansive night skies, basking at the beach, or hiking with her dogs. Also a creative soul, they balance their scientific background with a love for art and music, often creating art at home or dancing at a concert.
