Feathers & Frost: Holiday Photo Sessions with Our Birds of Prey
Up-close portraits with the Nature Center’s resident raptors, all in support of a wild and worthy cause.
Celebrate the season with a rare and meaningful experience: a photo beside one of the Ogden Nature Center’s incredible birds of prey.
During our Holiday Open House, guests are invited to step into a winter-themed setting and take a photo with one of our resident raptors, including hawks, owls, a bald eagle, and an American kestrel. These non-releasable birds live at the Nature Center and serve as animal ambassadors, helping us teach visitors about wildlife, conservation, and the connections we share with the world around us.
This is more than a photo opportunity. It is a quiet, powerful moment to come face-to-face with one of Utah’s native birds and support the work that keeps them, and their wild counterparts, safe and thriving.
How it works:
- Bring your own phone or camera. Our staff will take photos of you.
- Sessions are scheduled in 10-minute blocks, one group at a time
- $20 - pers session. Includes 2 people. $5 for each additional guest.
- Online sign-up is required. Spots are limited.
- Each hour features a different animal ambassador (see schedule below)
Important Notes
- All animals will be handled by trained staff
- Guests will not touch or hold the animals
- Photos will be taken beside the animal to ensure safety and comfort for everyone
- Flash photography is not allowed
- Please arrive 5 minutes early for your reserved time slot

Why Your Donation Matters
Your gift helps care for the animals who live here and supports the conservation work that protects their wild counterparts. It also makes possible the hands-on learning that connects people of all ages to the land, the wildlife, and the rhythms of the place we call home. All proceeds from these sessions go directly toward the Ogden Nature Center’s animal care, conservation efforts, and environmental education programs. Our animal ambassadors are non-releasable wildlife who now serve as teachers. Through them, we help spark wonder, build respect, and inspire stewardship in every visitor who walks our trails.
