Wildlife presentations that travel to your school, event or Eagle Court of Honor...

Are you looking for ways to spice up your lessons, stimulate your students and get them excited about natural science?  Our outreach educators bring live animals such as owls, hawks, tortoises and snakes into your classroom. Program content is based on Utah Science Core Curriculum Life Science goals and objectives and use grade appropriate concepts and vocabulary.

The price listed is for one 45-minute lesson. For additional lessons (same day and location) add half of the amount of the listed fee. There is an additional fee for travel over 10 miles from the Ogden Nature Center. Weekend programs are $50 extra and programs after 5 pm are an additional $20. Programs over 60 miles from the Nature Center, add $100. Title 1 Schools: please email  for discounted program pricing.

Schoolyard Explorer Program

Click HERE for our Schoolyard Explorer program. Free for all Charter and Public 1st grade classrooms and all grades from the Ogden and Weber School District!

Whooo Eats Whom?

Cost - $120

An in depth look at predator/prey relationships using a live raptor and another creature that is preys upon. We will discuss adaptations, survival techniques and food webs. Older grades (9-12) will discuss carrying capacity and formulate hypotheses related to wildlife populations.

Threatened & Endangered in Utah 

Cost - $100 

Find out what these terms mean as you look more in depth at specific "listed" species. We will discuss examples from around the world, but will focus on current happenings in Utah. Meet a desert tortoise, a threatened species in our state. This program is set to be an interactive discussion with some hands on elements and activites for groups under 45 individuals.

Mammals of the Wasatch

Cost - $75

Herbivores, Omnivores, Carnivores, oh my! Learn about the diversity of mammals that live in our region. Discover what makes mammals unique! We will bring skulls, bones and pelts to help students explore animal adaptations. This hands-on program is best suited for small audiences under 45 participants, but can be adapted for larger crowds who might not get the hands on experience.

Bird Menagerie

Cost - $75

Students will learn what specific characteristics make a bird a bird. We will bring in examples of eggs, nests, feathers, and taxidermy specimens and investigate adaptations specific to raptors, shore birds, song birds and more. A live bird may be added to this program for the Animals a la carte fee per specific bird.

Working with Wildlife

Cost - $100

Discover career options in the environmental and conservation fields as you meet an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist and one of our live animals that help teach our community about native wildlife species. Learn what it takes to care for our animals at the nature center and what you can do now to prepare for a job working with wildlife. One small animal included - snake, tortoise, rabbit, salamander (no birds). 

Owl Tales

Cost -$125

Decode the facts and fiction surrounding owls while meeting two different owls that live in Utah. Great for small or large audiences.

Our National Symbol

Cost - $150 for groups under 75; $200 for groups larger than 75 participants. 

From money to uniforms the symbol of the bald eagle is seen on a daily basis in the United States. Learn how this bird became our national symbol, hear the story of how the bald eagle has recovered from being on the endangered species list, and discover its magnificent characteristics as you meet the Ogden Nature Centers bald eagle, Des ta Te.

Revealing Reptiles

Cost - $85 

Students will get up close and personal with two of our favorite cold blooded friends as they explore the fascinating lives of reptiles. Best for small audiences

The Talent of Talons

Cost - $150 

With the help of three of the Ogden Nature Center’s resident raptors, students will get an introduction to birds of prey and their unique characteristics.

Eagle Court of Honor 

Starting Price - $200 

This 20-minute presentation includes a live Bald Eagle, certificate for each Eagle Scout and a photo session with the scout/Bald Eagle. The presentation covers how the Bald Eagle became our National Symbol. Comparisons are made between accomplishments needed to become an Eagle Scout and the tasks live eagles endure to build nests and survive. Pricing depends on the number of scouts being honored. Thirty (30)mile travel limit from the Ogden Nature Center. 

Meet & Greet or Event Booth

Cost - $50 base price

Bring a natural element to your next special event, fair, show, etc. Your guests will get an up close encounter with nature in a non-formal setting where they will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photographs with some special creatures. Any of our programs can be adjusted to be a booth. Contact us for pricing and details.

Animals a La Carte

Cost - $35 base price. 

If you have a program idea in mind, we may be able to help. Animals a la carte programs cost the base price plus the cost of the animal. Weekend programs are $50 extra and programs after 5:00 pm are $20 extra.
